Helping YOU TELL Your BEST STORIES

Your NEW WRITING Ally

I’m Rebecca, aka Rabble Of Bees Editorial, and I’m passionate about helping writers create their best work. I want your experience working with me to feel empowering and illuminating, and as such, I prioritise supportive communication, getting to know your unique outlook and needs, and delivering high-quality feedback. I want you to leave our work together not only sure that your manuscript is as good as it can be, but excited to tackle new projects with an increased level of skill and confidence.

Throughout History, THE BEE Has Symbolised Focus, Dedication, Hard work, Teamwork, Generosity & A CONNECTION TO THE DIVINE.

Fun fact: one of several collective nouns for bees is a rabble. I’ve always loved the whimsy of collective nouns, and as Rabble Of Bees also happens to contain my first and last initial, it seemed like kismet when I was looking for a name for my editorial business.

The symbolism associated with bees also resonates with the values that drive my work with writers.

Bees have long stood as symbols of industry, productivity and dedication, all of which are qualities writers are intimately acquainted with. Moreover, bees’ association with teamwork and generosity matches the supportive collaboration I want my clients to experience. Finally: that touch of the divine bees are said to possess? It reminds me of the reason we pursue creative work in the first place: the magic of capturing life on paper.

Meet The EDITOR

I’ve worked as a freelance writer and editor for the past five years. I’m a current EfA and ACES member, hold a Poynter’s Institute Certificate in Editing, and am a Squarespace Circle member. Previously, I worked as a teacher for over a decade, specialising in English and History (I think this is where my passion for quality feedback comes from), and I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology (which is where I think my obsession with character-driven stories comes from). Originally from the North of England, I currently live with my husband, son and two demanding felines just outside Washington, D.C. When I’m not editing, writing, designing, reading or child/cat wrangling, I’m rather partial to exploring D.C.’s many museums and galleries or watching documentaries (once a History nerd, always a History nerd). I think at this point I am at least 78% strong black coffee. Should you be so inclined, you can find examples of my writing over at rebeccabayuk.com.
