Frequently Asked QUESTIONS

  • No. I’m strictly a book interior designer, but I am happy to work alongside your cover designer, or review your cover art, to ensure design consistency.

  • We’ll conduct as many proof rounds as we need to make sure you’re totally happy with the book design.

  • Absolutely. If you’re only looking for one format, let me know and I will adjust my quote.

  • One word: HASSLE. Not only for you, but for your reader. The programs you likely used to write your book– from Word to Google to Scrivener– don’t have the design capabilities required for formatting a book to a professional-looking standard, and, while you could teach yourself to use an expensive design program, it’s a lot easier (and more fun!) to hire a designer to do it for you. In addition, bad or careless design affects readers more than we might imagine. Ill-thought out typography and layout can at best alienate or irritate readers and at worst render your work inaccessible to them.

  • Absolutely. From sprawling maps in Fantasy novels to custom icons to how-to photographs, we can incorporate images into your text in a range of creative and beautiful ways.

  • We’ll have an initial design consultation so I can learn more about your book and your wider work. If you have an author website or social media, I can tie in elements of the branding you have there into your book design. I’m also happy to fold in any sources of inspiration you might have (think images, font choices, colors, textures, other books you love) into the design options I prepare for you.
