Your Manuscript, PUBLICATION-Ready
Full editing investment starts from $0.050 per word.
In a full edit, we’ll take your draft through four distinct levels of editing: developmental, line and copy editing, plus proofreading. At the end of our work together, you’ll have a polished and publication-ready manuscript!
A Full Edit Is PERFECT For You If:
you’re self-publishing
A full edit strengthens both the “big picture” and finer details of your work, so you have a manuscript that’s ready to launch as a book upon completion of our work together.
you’re querying agents
Feel confident that the work you’re querying agents with is your strongest.
you want a one-stop shop
A full edit removes the need to engage additional editing services (e.g. line and copy editing, and proofreading) after a developmental edit.
What’s INCLUDED In Your Investment?

I’ll prepare a detailed analysis of the strengths and areas for development in your manuscript, at the developmental, line and copy-edit stage.

If you’re not a Microsoft Word person, fear not! I also use Google Suite programs to mark up manuscripts, so we can work with whatever is easiest for you.

The editorial reports will outline my assessment of your manuscript: what works really well, what could stand to be developed, and how you can go about making improvements. I will prepare a new report for three stages of the editing process: developmental editing, line editing, and copy editing. The developmental report will address all of the “big picture” elements we’ve been talking about: premise, plot, theme, characterisation, etc., and how effectively these elements are working. The line report will focus on the quality of your prose. The copy report will address grammar, spelling and formatting. I’ll provide examples and recommended reading as necessary.

A full edit is arguably the most time and labor-intensive service I offer because of the distinct stages of editing we will work through sequentially. Exact timeline vary depending upon the complexity of the project and the extent of revision required, but you can expect that I will keep the manuscript for between 2 and 6 weeks for the developmental edit before returning it to you for revisions and up to 2 weeks for all following editing stages. You’ll need to factor in the time it will take you to make revisions in between editing stages in calculating a rough overall timeline. I always recommend building in a little contingency time, too, because, well, life!

Yes, where this is relevant and helpful.

If you want further support with making revisions to your manuscript, I’d suggest taking a look at book doctoring, which is a mash-up of developmental editing and ghostwriting that might be perfect for what you need!
